Read a book review for COBALT RED by Siddharth Kara concerning THIS:
While all us on the “Top of the Technology Chain’ whip out our cell phones to chat or check latest social media posts…
Or dream of buying a EV (electric vehicle) and ‘save’ the planet from overheating..
There’s a heavy price being paid…by the poorest of the poor…
One of Mother Teresa‘s favorite texts in the Bible, which she often quoted to support her ministry to the poor, is “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me” (Matthew 25:40, 45, NIV).
So, where is the OUTCRY from ‘church’ on…
Dare I mention the word?
I will
SIN…the sin of turning a ‘blind eye’ to the squalor, suffering, and misery going on around the world!!
Just a few years after my family and I were ‘dismissed’ from nearly a decade to the mission field in South America (where often similar scenes of blatant exploitation are still ongoing in 2023)
BLOOD DIAMOND explored parallel themes of ‘sin’ in 2006
Did a reported $171 million box office…NOT bad.
But, then, again…it had A List actors
Not to name drop…but…folks such as Leonardo DiCaprio
Along with Jennifer Connelly (who just played the ‘love interest’ for Maverick in the latest TOP GUN sequel)…which is UP?? – For best picture award come March.
So, without A List actors…what are the ODDS that this brand new book, COBALT RED, due out tomorrow (Jan 31) and being produced into a film…
Will gather a huge BOX OFFICE windfall???
Wager – about the chance of a snowball lasting to nightfall in the Congo mid-day heat!
Thanks for your continued support,
